A Simple Phrase That Sparked An Idea...
We started the idea of Awareness Outlet back in 2019 at a local coffee shop, as we spoke with someone wearing a bracelet that said "love me until I'm me again." It felt like a sign as soon as we saw this quote and we felt a passion burning in our hearts. This quote means to demonstrate unconditional love, and acceptance towards a loved one, because their mental illness does not define who they are.
A lot of people support mental health awareness, which is great, but unfortunately, not everyone understands it. Some people are naĂŻve; others simply don't want to learn.
As a person who struggles with mental health on a daily basis I wanted to make an impact on my surrounding community and raise awareness for those struggling.
Starting that afternoon, we were full of inspiration and set out to create a store that would one day inspire millions of women....and this was Awareness Outlets birth đ§ â¤ď¸

No. Awareness Outlet is a For-profit company. Sometimes customers assume we're a non profit, because we give a lot and offer loads of community resources on our website / social media.
Why Did We Choose A For-Profit Model?
There are many benefits to us running as a business, we aim to serve the community with a range of the highest quality products and awesome customer service! These business objectives are best served by a for profit model.
We are dedicated to supporting disease research and there are countless non-profit organizations that already exist with this purpose. If we had gone down the non-profit route we would be competing for the same grants, funds, and volunteer workers. We felt it best to operate as a business capable of generating our own contributions for charities.

How Does Awareness Outlet Decide How Much To Give?
We donate a percentage of net profit to good causes. We have to make intelligent decision in an ever increasing, competitive marketing and felt that donating a percentage of the profit was the best way to do so. Because we operate as a business we have many overhead costs that are variable. One of the main variables is advertising marketing, cost of raw materials, and shipping. This makes it difficult to award a fixed percentage of the product sale price to good causes as the profitability fluctuates A LOT.
